About Network Cafe

At the Network Cafe you will find stimulating and innovative thinking around topics facing managers today. You will be welcomed to join the relaxed cafe atmosphere and network together to explore possibilities around management questions and real life issues.

Each Network Cafe will address a different pre-set question so you can meet other professionals for the first time and engage in authentic conversation. Small intimate conversations around coffee tables can link and build on each other as people move between tables, cross pollinate ideas, and discover new insights into questions that really matter in your work place.

The collective wisdom of a Network Cafe is something everyone should experience. Network Cafes enable new connections to new people and new ways of thinking.

Typical questions discussed at the Network Cafe

How might we deliver superior Customer Service with limited resources?
How can we communicate more effectively with Gen Y to increase staff retention?
How can organisations use successful learning and development to improve performance through periods of change?

What to expect at the Network Cafe

Take a seat at the small tables in the cafe with around 30-50 other professionals
A facilitator will host the event — they will introduce the topic and explain why it is important.

After introducing yourself to the people around the table (exchanging business cards is optional) the topic is discussed for 20 minutes with key points recorded on the butchers’ paper Each table selects an anchor person that remains on the table for the duration of the event. The remaining people then move to a different table, providing new networking opportunities. The anchor person will then share the main points recorded on the butchers’ paper from the previous group. Ideas are then incubated through continuing exchange of ideas and the key points recorded.

This process is repeated three times giving plenty of opportunity to meet new people and get new insight into a topic. Finally each table nominates a spokes person to provide an overview of the key points discussed to the facilitator who records the outcomes and makes connection. The Network Cafe will typically run for 90 minutes with the opportunity to do further networking afterwards if you so wish. Catering will be provided at the cafe.
